Priority Issues (Materiality) in ESG Management of the NST Group

Identification process and materiality

NST organizes the stakeholder issues (NST business issues) that were identified through discussion between the President and the general managers of sales departments based on the 17 goals and 169 targets of SDGs, which are considered to comprehensively represent global social issues, and based on the international frameworks for CSR and ESG (such as ISO26000 and GRI standards). We also identify the issues which need to be addressed by NST, and organizes the social issues which affect our company.
The organized social issues are assessed based on two axes, the “perspectives of society and stakeholders” and the “perspective of the impact on the NST Group,” and an order of priority is assigned. The social issues of high importance are identified as priority issues (materiality) for NST.
A wide range of input regarding the identified priority issues (materiality) is obtained from within and outside the company, and their validity is confirmed. Then the issues are discussed and approved by the Management Meeting and Board of Directors to decide materiality.
