The Seventh Consecutive Year as a Certified Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (Large Enterprise Category)

Nippon Steel Trading Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "our company") has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year as a "Certified Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2026 (Large Enterprise Category)" under the health management excellence corporation certification system jointly selected by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan Health Council.
Our company positions “Expanding human capital,” “Diversity & Inclusion,” “Safety and Health Management,” and “Innovations in Working Styles” as the pillars of our human resource strategy and promotes a wide range of initiatives. By developing a workplace environment where every employee can work with peace of mind, fully demonstrate their abilities, and feel their own growth, we aim to vitalize the organization and improve productivity.
With regard to “Health and Productivity Management,” one of the pillars of our human resource strategy, the company, the Human Resources Department, and the Health Insurance Association work together in a tripartite effort to promote initiatives that maintain and improve employee health.
〈Health Management Initiatives for Fiscal Year 2025〉
1) Further Enhancing Ongoing Initiatives (Partial List)
・Enhancement and thorough implementation of lifestyle improvement guidance by industrial physicians and occupational health staff
・Implementation of cancer screenings for “breast,” “cervical,” “colorectal,” “stomach,” and “lung cancers” (maintaining a high screening rate of over 90%)
・As mental health measures, expansion of interviews by industrial physicians, placement and expansion of external counselors, support for high-risk organizations, and holding seminars on line management
・Hosting health promotion events at the head office, including physical fitness measurements (four categories), body composition measurements, yoga, and strength training seminars; hosting a nutrition education event at the Osaka Branch
・Continuous distribution of the “1Minute 1Action” one-minute behavioral change video service
2)New Initiatives
・Establishment of a Health Promotion Section within the Human Resources Department in April 2025 to strengthen the health management structure of the entire Group
・Regular introduction of health-related information—such as lifestyle-related diseases, cancer, mental health, medical checkups, female-specific health issues, and nearby medical institutions—via the “Health Management App” on the company intranet
・To strengthen employee mental health, assignment of a counselor at the Osaka Branch in addition to the head office starting April 2025 (employees at the Nagoya Branch can also access counseling online)
・Encouraging employees to participate in lunchtime webinars provided by 1Minute 1Action
Our company regards the improvement of health literacy, enhancement of lifestyle habits, and the response to women’s health issues as important themes of health management. In the next fiscal year, we will continue to enhance e-learning, seminars, and training programs to promote employees’ understanding and encourage practical action.
We will continue to strengthen work-life balance initiatives and enhance health-conscious measures to improve employee well-being while simultaneously pursuing sustainable corporate growth
