MOU Signed with LEFORM, a Leading Malaysian Construction Materials Manufacturer, to Strengthen Strategic Collaboration

Nippon Steel Trading Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "our company") and our Malaysian subsidiary, NST TRADING MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (hereinafter referred to as “Malaysian subsidiary”), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 22 with LEFORM BERHAD (hereinafter referred to as “LEFORM”), a major construction materials manufacturer in Malaysia, to strengthen strategic collaboration.

LEFORM is one of Malaysia’s leading companies in the manufacture and sale of steel pipes and guardrails, holding a high market share and achieving rapid growth in the country’s construction materials sector. As LEFORM considered expanding its facilities to further accelerate business growth, the company requested our Group to participate in a private placement to reinforce its business structure and build a stronger collaborative framework. In response, our Malaysian subsidiary decided to invest in the company in March.
A signing ceremony was held to commemorate the conclusion of the MOU, attended by LEFORM President Law Kok Thye, our company’s President Nakamura, and Malaysian subsidiary’s President Shinozuka, along with other representatives. Our Group and LEFORM confirmed their commitment to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
Moving forward, our company will work closely with LEFORM to expand locally rooted business operations in Malaysia. We will also continue to capture additional steel demand—particularly for infrastructure-related applications—within the regional construction materials market, while further solidifying our business foundation not only in Malaysia but also across the ASEAN region.
