Investment in LEFORM BERHAD, a Major Building Materials Manufacturer in Malaysia

NST TRADING MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (the “NST Malaysia”), a local subsidiary of NIPPON STEEL TRAGING CORPORATION (the “Company”), has decided to make an equity investment in LEFORM BERHAD (“LEFORM”), a Malaysian manufacturer and distributor of building materials such as steel pipes and guardrails.
- 1.Overview
LEFORM is considering expanding its equipment to achieve further business growth. To strengthen its business structure and establish a cooperative framework through the participation of a new business partner, LEFORM requested the Company Group to subscribe to a third‑party allotment of shares, based on the track record of past transactions and expectations for a deeper future relationship. Accordingly, the NST Malaysia will make the investment.
- 2.Purpose
Through strategic collaboration with LEFORM enabled by this investment, the Company aims to expand its locally produced and consumed business in Malaysia and accelerate efforts to capture further demand for infrastructure‑related steel products in the region’s building materials market.
