"Glass-Free Thin Lightweight Panel" Receives Certification for "Excellent Functional Solar Power Generation System" from Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation

Nippon Steel Trading Corporation (hereinafter "NST") hereby announces that the "Glass-Free Thin Lightweight Panel" handled by our Industrial Supply & Infrastructure Division was certified by the Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation as an "Excellent Functional Solar Power Generation System" on March 29th.
This certification is part of a system where the Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation provides additional subsidies to users upon installation of solar power generation systems that meet the criteria for excellent functionality, with the aim of expanding and promoting the installation of solar power generation systems.
NST handles solar power panels that offer even higher functionality than conventional panels, meeting the challenges and needs of our customers towards decarbonization. Moving forward, we will continue to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050 and a sustainable society by capturing new demand related to social needs such as SDGs and ensuring the stable supply of items.

By eliminating glass, we have achieved a significant reduction in weight to less than half that of typical panels. This greatly expands the range of possible installation locations, including rooftops of buildings where installation was previously difficult due to load-bearing issues.
