Bangkok Eastern Coil Center Honored with Leading Thailand Government Safety Prize for the Second Straight Year

NipponSteel & Sumikin Bussan Corporation (NSSB; head office in Minato Ward, Tokyo; Yasumitsu Saeki, President) is pleased to announce that on September 10, its group company, Bangkok Coil Center Co., Ltd. (BECC; head office in Rayong Province; Kingdom of Thailand), was honored by the Thailand Ministry of Labor with a Gold Prize under the Thai government’s Safety and Health Environment Corporate Excellence Awards. This marked the second straight year that that BECC has received this Gold Prize, which ranks as one of Thailand’s most-prestigious tributes for achievements in corporate safety and health. In addition, BECC has likewise been the recipient of the Silver Prize in the Thai government’s Zero Accident Campaign for three consecutive years.
The NSSB Group will continue to move forward together as a tightly knit team devoted to advancing top-level safety initiatives and awareness, and also expand our business with putting the highest priority on safety, security and compliance.
Summary of BECC’s safety commendations
1. Safety and Health Environment Corporate Excellence Awards: Gold Prize recipient
These awards are presented in recognition of compliance with all pertinent laws, in tandem with the creation and implementation of management systems structured to uphold proper safety and health environments. BECC earned high evaluations under this program for satisfying a total of 438 screening standards, as well as for the results of document reviews and field audits conducted by officials from Thailand’s Ministry of Labor.
2. Zero Accident Campaign: Silver Prize recipient
The awards in this category are given to enterprises active domestically in Thailand that achieve over 3 million to 10 million or less hours of continuous operation with no accident-related shutdowns. This year, BECC has achieved the level of 3.9 million consecutive hours of such “zero accident” status.
